Indoor Bingo is back. It will take place at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the San Marcos Activity Center if it has reopened. If it hasn't, it will take place at Dunbar Recreation Center, Bingo is for Ages 60+. Registration for Bingo is no longer required. Participants must agree that they have read and understand the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department Release and Waiver of Liability and will have to sign the waiver when attending Bingo. Each person will be given 1 sheet of paper with 4 Bingo cards printed on the paper and a small cup of beans. Participants will use beans to mark the numbers. The card sheets and the beans will be discarded at the end of the event. Participants will be seated at ends of 6-foot rectangular tables. Only two people will be allowed per table. Join us to learn how to take stunning pictures (with a cell phone camera) of spring in bloom. Participants will use their own pictures with various mixed media art applications. Each session includes an easy art technique demonstration using mixed media art applications for people who are not artists, followed by hands-on experimentation using your own photographs. Hays, Blanco, and Caldwell County residents are welcome to sign up for utility assistance with Community Action case managers. If you are deemed eligible, you could possibly have your electric and gas bills paid for a year. Priority given to low-income households with high energy use, high energy burden, the presence of a child (ages 5 or under), disabled, elderly individuals, or veterans. Please bring a government issued photo ID, a US passport, or birth certificate for all members in the household, and proof of income for anyone 18 and older such as: paycheck stubs, social security benefit letters, child support, long-term disability, and/or VA benefits.
