Zoomagination Animal Shows

 June 20, 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., & 1:00 p.m.

 Back by popular demand! Animal-loving kids will meet live mammals, birds, and reptiles. Free tickets available at the library starting June 6! Program sponsored in honor of L. Dianne Murray.


Summer Science

 June 20, 3:00 p.m.

 Hands-on workshops introduce science topics and encourage curiosity. This day’s topic will be forensic science. For ages 8 to 14. Registration required.


Laugh Out Loud Movie Night

 June 20, 6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

 Join us for a laugh out loud movie night! Popcorn provided, but feel free to bring your own snacks. Please check our website for the title of the movie we’ll be showing. Rated PG.



 June 21, 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

 Children are invited to the library for great stories, songs, and fun.


Baby Storytime

 June 21, 12:00 p.m.

 An early literacy playgroup for pre-walkers. Join other babies for songs, stories, stretches and playtime!


LEGO Mania

 June 21, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Grab a bowl full of LEGOs and a base plate and build your dream creation. For ages 4 and up.


Free Dance Classes

 June 24, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 Creative Dance fusing elements of various dance forms such as Jazz, Hip-Hop, Ballet, and Modern Dance. These classes will focus on the relationship of body to space and cultivate esteem toward expressing with the body. Some fun elements that will enhance the dancing curriculum are drawing, vocalizing, improvising, and using music as inspiration for “creating a dance,” also known as choreography. Multiple dance classes for ages 5-17. Limited space available. Registration required.


Teen Anime Club

 June 24, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 If you love anime, manga, or Japanese pop culture, come join us for a fun time watching anime films. Socialize, meet new friends, and discuss your favorite series. Light refreshments provided. Ages 12-17.


SMTX 4 All Housing Initiative: Community Conversation

 June 24, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

 The City of San Marcos is inviting community members to participate in a community conversation to learn more about the housing needs in San Marcos and provide input for consideration by the Housing Task Force. A Community Conversation Toolkit will be utilized as part of a collaborative round-table discussion that will last approximately 15-20 minutes. A city staff and/or a Housing Task Force member will be in attendance to help guide the conversation. For more information about the SMTX 4 All Housing Initiative, please visit

Anime/Manga Drawing Classes

 June 25, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

 Want to learn how to create your own anime/manga characters? Join us for this fun, creative series! Garnette Urquhart will be teaching the basics of drawing Japanese characters. For ages 10-16.

Family Night! Mariachi Infantil Concert

 June 25, 7:00 p.m.

 Family Night happens every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in June and July. Each week features a different event for your family to enjoy together.

Computer Class

 June 26, 10:00 a.m.

 Free introductory computer classes in email, Internet searching, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel for adults. Learn how to get started with your iPad or tablet.

Ninja Craft

 June 26, 10:00 a.m. & 12:00 p.m.

 For all ages. Kids under five will need adult help. Crafts take 20 to 30 minutes to complete. All supplies provided.

Andy Hartsock & the Ninjas Concert

 June 26, 11:00 a.m.

 Rock the library with zany original songs and high energy kids’ favorites. Fun for all ages.

Teen Maker Club

 June 26, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 Explore your creative side in this program that gets you designing and creating. Each session there will be craft, art, and maker projects to explore, or you can create your own design. The library provides all materials for suggested activities, but feel free to bring your own projects.

Adult Creative Camp

 June 26, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

 Adult Creative Camp is open to any skill level. Explore your creativity and expression, with encouragement and support. The camp will include visual and written expression, featuring poetry, collage, songwriting, watercolors, and calligraphy. You will end camp with a book of your own creations. Space is limited - register today!

Jennifer’s Book Chat

 June 26, 6:30 p.m.

 The goal of Jennifer's Book Chat is to discover books and authors we didn't know we'd love. At each meeting, staff member Jennifer will announce a surprise topic and together we'll select books to discuss at the upcoming meeting. Hungry readers, this program is for you.
