Residents can now register for the annual Summer Fun and Discovery Camp programs. Registration for children can be done in person at the Grant Harris Jr. Building, 401 E. Hopkins. Registration for non-residents opens April 22.
Summer Fun is a five-day recreational program, Monday-Friday, June 10 – Aug. 9. We will not host camp on July 4, as well as the week of July 8- 12. Camp runs from 7:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. at Goodnight Middle School.
Campers will participate in board games, basketball, crafts, and one field trip per week. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for every child by San Marcos CISD. Extra money for concessions may be sent with your child to camp. Cost for residents is $32/week and $50/week for non-residents, which can be paid weekly. This camp is for ages 7-14 (six-year-olds are welcome if they have completed the first grade).
The City offers a Youth Activity Scholarship for up to half the weekly cost for Summer Fun on a first come, first serve basis. Information on requirements and the registration process is available online at www.sanmarcostx.gov/youthactivity.
Discovery Camp is also a five-day educational program, running Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. June 10– Aug. 9 for children ages 5-10. Camp will take place at the San Marcos Dunbar Recreation Center. There will be one trip per week to the Discovery Center for environmental education, one pool day at Rio Vista Pool, one trip to the Children’s Park Playscape, and one large off-site field trip per week.

Week 3- Active Kid
Week 4- Texas Temps
Week 5- Lights Camera Action
Week 6- Kids Kitchen
Week 7- History Hunters
Week 8- Welcome to the Jungle
Week 9- The Greatest Show on Earth
There will be no camp on July 4, with a discount available that week. The registration fee for residents is $150/week; registration for non-residents is $175/week. A sibling discount is available. San Marcos CISD will provide a sack lunch each day of camp.
