[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Police pursuit called off

The scene has been released. The suspect was not located after an extensive search, but he has been fully identified. Charges will be forthcoming. One motor officer was injured responding to the call. A motorist turned left into the path of his motorcycle, and he’s at CTMC being treated for minor injuries. Police don’t expect continued danger to the neighborhood, but people should call and report any suspicious activity.

The San Marcos Police Department assisted by the Hays County Sheriff’s Department and other area agencies is currently searching for a suspect who ran from the police and is believed to be hiding in the Saddlebrook neighborhood on the north side of San Marcos. Residents are urged to remain in their homes and notify the police department if they see anything suspicious. The Austin Police Department aircraft unit is assisting.
