Executive Director of Public Services Tom Taggart has been honored by two separate organizations in the public utilities sector.
“It’s very fitting for Tom to be honored both locally and nationally for his many years of service, not only in San Marcos, but also within many industry organizations,” said City Manager Bert Lumbreras. “His achievements are well known among his colleagues, and we are proud to have such an accomplished professional leading our City public services team.”
Taggart received the President’s award at the 33rd WateReuse Symposium, held in Austin Sept. 9-12.
WateReuse is an internationally-recognized organization championing alternative water supply development. It is a resource for policy guidance and educational tools on water reuse and related projects.
Additionally, Taggart has recently been appointed to the municipal seat on the Board of Directors of Texas811 for a two-year term. Texas811 is a non-profit organization that encourages people to “Call before you dig” to prevent damage to utility infrastructure.
