The public safety bond included the relocation of the Holland Street Fire Station #2, the construction of a new fire station on the east side of Interstate 35, the creation of a fire training facility located near the airport, and renovations to the San Marcos Police Department. The public safety bond garnered 75. 62 percent of the vote in its favor.
Two other bonds on the ballot were also approved. The library bond included a 29,000 square foot expansion to its current building and San Marcos CISD to build a new elementary school with improvements to prepare for growth and upgrading technology for the students.
