On Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office arrested Milton Heyliger (DOB 11/17/1996) for Manslaughter following a San Marcos Police Department investigation into an assault that resulted in the death of 24-year-old Emmett Worsham of La Grange, TX.
San Marcos Police responded to Red Room Social Lounge, 106 W Hopkins Street, at approximately 2:37 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers located Worsham unconscious in the roadway outside of the lounge.
An investigation determined Worsham was denied entry into Red Room Social Lounge, which lead to an argument between Worsham and an employee of the lounge, identified as Heyliger. During the argument Heyliger struck Worsham multiple times, causing him to fall from the elevated sidewalk and sustain injuries to his head.
Worsham was transported to Ascension Seton Hays Hospital in Kyle, where he succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 19, 2021.
Heyliger was initially booked on a charge of Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury and released on bond. A warrant for Manslaughter was issued for his arrest following Worsham’s death. As of this release, Heyliger remains in the Hays County Jail and a bond has not been set.
