    We have extended the hours for Adult Pickleball Open Play! It is now offered on Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 AM– 12:00 Noon and 9:00 – 11:30 AM on Fridays, at the San Marcos Activity Center. Pickleball is free for Activity Center members. Nonmembers will be charged the daily use rate of $3.00 for residents and $4.00 for nonresidents. Paddles and balls are available for those who do not have their own. If you would like to learn more about the sport, you are welcome to attend a session to observe and give it a try, free of charge.   4. 50+ S.M.A.S.H. Bowling Social

    July 25, 2019, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Activity Center

    Join us every month for a SMASH Social Club, Bowling Social. The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation and Sunset Bowling Lanes are hosting a Bowling Social every month. These bowling events are for ages 50 + and will be held from 2-4 PM at Sunset Bowling Lanes, 1304 HWY 123, San Marcos, TX. The fee for this event is $5.00/ person and includes shoe rental and 2 games of bowling. We do ask that you RSVP to nriali@sanmarcostx.gov or call (512) 393-8275 so we can get a head count to reserve enough lanes. The $5.00 cost will be paid to Sunset Bowling on the day of the event.     The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation has partnered with the Texas Capital Bridge Association to offer Duplicate Bridge every Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center. The San Marcos club is a member of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), which has over 167,000 members who play duplicated bridge in 3200 clubs across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Join us every Tuesday during June and July (with the exception of July 2) at San Marcos Plaza Park for a FREE movie under the stars. The movie will begin at sunset (approximately 8:45 PM) and pre-movie activities will be hosted one hour prior. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and come out early to claim your spot! Concessions will be available for purchase. Please note that alcohol, Styrofoam, glass and smoking is not permitted at this event. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash.

    Come experience an adventure this summer with the City of San Marcos Discovery Camp! The Parks and Recreation Department is offering 9 themed weeks of exploring, adventure, and discovery for campers ages 5 to 10. Campers will have the chance to be outside, do experiments, build things, get messy, work as a team, develop leadership skills, and have fun! Lunch is provided by SMCISD. One field trip to various locations, two trips to the San Marcos Discovery Center, and a trip to the Rio Vista pool each week are included in camp fees. (NO CAMP ON JULY 4th) Registration for Residents will begin on April 2nd and for Non-Residents April 23rd of 2018.
