  1. Travel Group Trip - Historical Goliad

    October 25, 2017, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM @ Activity Center

    Bring family, friends and a sack lunch as we take a trip to Fannin Battleground and Goliad State Park and Historic Site on Wednesday, October 25. Fannin Battleground memorializes the brave soldiers who fought the Battle of Coleto Creek on this site in 1836 during the Texas War for Independence. At Goliad State Park and Historic Site, we will have a picnic lunch in the group dining shelter and visit the refurnished restoration of the Spanish Colonial Era Mission of Nuestra Señora del Espíritu Santo de Zuñiga. There is also a choice of hiking trails that are available to park users. We will depart from the Activity Center at 8:30AM and return at 3:30PM. Trip cost is $22. This includes round trip transportation and entry to Goliad State Park and Historic Site. Register at the Parks and Rec Office, Activity Center, or call 512.393.8400. Registration is from August 7 - September 29.
