Columbarium

To purchase a niche, you will first need to contact the caretaker, Scott McLelland. He will show you the available niches. He is available during business hours Monday - Friday from 8AM - 5PM (512-748-9671). 

After you have your niche address, call the Parks and Recreation department to schedule an appointment for payment. The niche will need to be paid in full before you are able to use it. Payment can be made in cash, check, or credit card (512-393-8410).

The Columbarium is sold by tier levels as well as different price rates for San Marcos city residents and non-residents. For more information about pricing, you can view the Columbarium Pricing Chart 2023.

The niche dimensions are in the shape of a trapezoid. The opening is 10.75'' width, 12" height, 11.75" depth, the inside wall 7" width. Two bronze urns can fit in a niche. You can select other urn types; however, you will need to verify the fit. 

Niche Inscriptions cost $300 per order. There is an approved standard layout. Veterans can add a military branch emblem. Each line can fit 23 characters. If there is a concern about the length of a name, contact the Parks and Recreation Department for assistance 512-393-8410. It is a best practice to wait to engrave until at least one person is inurned in a niche. Inscription Order Forms must be typed. Half-line inscriptions are not allowed. After you complete the inscription order form contact the Parks and Recreation department to make a payment.
