The Resource Recovery Division and San Marcos Police Department offer residents an anonymous prescription and over-the-counter drug drop-off service in the front lobby of the Police Department.
Residents may deposit expired or unwanted medications into a secure kiosk. The medicines are removed and incinerated regularly, keeping the unwanted medications from polluting the environment and water supply.
The City asks residents to mark out their personal information on the containers and leave the prescription name visible.
The lobby at the San Marcos Police Department is open 24/7 and is monitored closely with video cameras.
