City Reopens Facilities to the Public, Masks Required
The City of San Marcos reopened all public facilities including park pavilions and picnic areas Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Capes Park, Thompson’s Island, and Rio Vista pool will remain closed.
Many departments will utilize WaitWhile to manage appointments which allow visitors to arrive, check-in from their mobile device, and wait in their vehicle until staff is ready to receive them for the appointment. For current COSM operating procedures listed by department, click here.
Until further notice, group meetings will still be held virtually.
Under the rules of Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-34, businesses and facilities may open at 100% capacity beginning March 10, 2021.
The testing is provided at no cost to the individual and is availableto anyone, whether or not they reside in Hays County. Curative is now billing private insurance companies for testing services, but there will be no out-of-pocket cost to the individual being tested. Those without insurance will not be turned away and will receive the test for free.
Over 10,000 tests have been administered at the San Marcos Curative test site since testing began in October 2020. These numbers do not include testing done at Texas State University and do include individuals who do not reside in Hays County.

Residents may call the hotline at 512-393-5525 with non-emergency COVID-19 questions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Spanish speakers will be available.
Callers will be placed into an automated system when calling in to the hotline. If you are a Hays County resident, select one (1). You will then be placed in the queue for the next available operator to assist in answering any questions. Call Center personnel will answer frequently asked questions about symptoms, possible testing, and self-isolation.
If you are experiencing symptoms or concerned that you have been exposed to the virus, please call your health care professional to determine next steps. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 9-1-1.
